We had to open a new account with EBay because of their new managed payment policies, which seems to have a glitch in it under the land/real estate category.  Many other sellers are also experiencing this situation.
This listing is for one 20 unpatented placer mining claim on the Middle Fork
Applegate River just roughly 5 miles over the Oregon border into Siskiyou County.
The name of the claim is

. It is located in Township 48N, Range 12W, Section 35 in the Mount Diablo Meridian.
Some nice gold has been taken from this river. Unfortunately this claim is closed to dredging and high banking with motorized equipment like all claims are in the state of California. But this is a great claim to dig by hand and run through a sluice box, rocker box, metal detect, pan, snipe and that is why the price is a quarter of what they used to sell for on this river. This claim has lots of exposed bedrock in and out of the river and plenty of virgin ground. These photos are of the claim and it is much greener now and beautiful.

There's about 5 miles of good dirt road to the claim and the road follows the river within 30 to 100 feet of the river. This makes it easy accessibility. You'll notice the last picture is of Applegate Lake roughly 5 miles from the claims in Oregon just outside the small town of Ruch, Oregon. (Lake is not included with the claim.) That photo is just a portion of the lake itself. The lake has great boat accessibility, campgrounds, picnic areas, water skiing, fishing and lots of fun. This is a very rich gold area. We've heard of one ounce nuggets coming from it. We have gotten some nice gold ourselves off this river in the last 20 years. We own around 12 claims on this river.

Once the claim is paid for a deed will be notarized and recorded in the Siskiyou County recorder office and with BLM transferring the claim to the new owner. All transfer fees will be paid by us.

only after we receive an e-mail telling us your name and phone number and what you plan to do on the claim and that you will follow all fire restrictions for the area and then we will send you directions and coordinates to the claim. We do this to keep people from swiping our gold.
If this is acceptable by you, we will give you an e-mail giving you permission to go pan and extract some minerals and prospect the claim for a day. This needs to be done this way now days because too many people are taking advantage of people selling claims for a free vacation and free gold when actually they had no intentions of buying it in the first place.

You can tell the quality of a claim with just a pan and shovel. Seeing gold in the pan is believing. Here is another tid-bit that you don’t usually see claim sellers telling you right up front. On any unpatented mining claim you do NOT own the actual land.  You DO however own the mineral rights and the minerals being gold, silver, platinum, etc., and the right to use as much of the surface of the land that is needed for your mining/prospecting.
Most people stay on their claims in RV's, travel trailers, or wall tents, etc.... You can prospect/mine this claim 12 months out of a year, You do have the right to hold this claim forever as long as you do the necessary paper work which consists of Filing/Recording your annual labor form with the county of Siskiyou and performing 0 a year annual labor which is working your claim performing / improvements at least one 8 hour day per year and sending off your fee per claim to BLM. You may also have someone else perform that 8 hour day for you if you wish or you can just pay the 5 maintenance fee per year without recording your annual labor. This has to be done by September 1st of each year.
You have the right to sell the claim or lease it, to anyone, so in other words this can be in your family for many years to come and this is definitely a claim worth owning. They are not accepting applications to patent mining claims at the present time, however this could change at any time and they may start accepting applications then you would be able to submit an application for a patent and if it was approved meaning that if there is enough valuable minerals present you would get a patent on the claim meaning you would own the land then. Then, and only then, would you actually own the land on any unpatented mining claim. We wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for that day again, but you never know.
